GREEN BUNNIES

I love trying new things with food and finding fun ways to make my boys enjoy their food. Canyon has always been an amazing eater and will eat his broccoli before anything else but Sawyer is a little pickier and is not a fan of eating broccoli in big pieces so I blended the broccoli with milk and made Green Bunnies! Sawyer loved it and Canyon thought having Green bunnies was pretty cool. Remember there is never a need to use butter especially in Mac n Cheese. It doesn't taste any different without the butter. (My opinion of course) Butter Other options for butter are steaming instead or using olive oil. If you find a good spray bottle for your olive oil, it's easy to use it in moderation and cover your food better before cooking. Pampered Chef makes a great one specific for this. If I am sauteeing vegetables I will sometimes just use water unless I want the extra flavor, then I will use Olive Oil. Other oils that add flavor that are fun are Walnut Oil, Peanut Oil, and Sesame Oil.

DREAM LAKE HIKE

Mom and Dad took baby Sawyer and me to Rocky Mountain National Park today for a big adventure! This is Dream Lake, our final destination. Mom and dad were happy to get us off their backs for a little rest and a nice picnic lunch in this beautiful place!
Mom and baby Sawyer on the way to Dream Lake.
I was happy to hike by myself and look forward to having my own snow shoes soon.
Mountain Climbing is my thing!
Sawyer wearing my old "special" shades.
Feeding these crazy birds my peanut butter sandwich was the best part! They were not shy!
This place is breathtaking and exhausting all at the same time!
My daddy was smoked as the entire hike was up hill! I am no light spring chicken! Nice job daddy!
Such an amazing place.
Mommy and baby Sawyer having so much fun!Making sure my daddy doesn't miss a thing!
I had a great day with my family and look forward to our next adventure.

Horsetooth Hike

We planned to hike Coyote Ridge but it was closed so we took a little detour to Masonville to see some fun old time things...most of which I couldn't' touch. This is as close as I could get to this really cool train. Trust me I so wanted to climb all over it but I figured I should obey the rules.
We decide to go across the street to Horsetooth Mountain Park and do a fun hike up the service road.
It is always fun hiking with my dad!
Sawyer had so much fun too. He loves to look around and squeaks at everything he sees!
To wear off some energy, daddy let me hike all on my own for most of the way down.
We ran into some snow, mud, and even saw a small herd of deer.
Being outside is GREAT!
The views are always beautiful!
I even love to explore off the trail.
All in all it was a great day to get out and get some fresh cool air.

My Valentine for my DADDY!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY DADDY

I wanted to let my daddy know just how much I love him so I made him some very special cookies all by myself!
When making cookies, it's important that you follow very specific steps. For those of you that think you need some sort of roller, forget it, hands work just fine. Give the dough a good pat with the palm of your hand!
Press the cutter down until you make the most perfect heart!
Make sure you share the cookie dough with your family members. Eating too much cookie dough can give you a belly ache!
And here you go! The finished project. I made all of these hearts all on my own with no help from my mommy! She was very proud of me. Mom obviously made the I LOVE U but seriously, who can't do that?
After frosting the cookies, I made sure to put the best sprinkles on for my daddy! I love you daddy and had so much fun spending this special day with you!

SAWYER AT 10 MONTHS

My brother turned 10 months old yesterday and I can honestly say he is a handful in so many ways! He has sprouted some big teeth!
LOVES to eat!
Gets into EVERYTHING!
Did I mention LOVES to eat?
Is very playable!
Super funny!
Very goofy!
A true clown!
Extremely curious! And oh so sweet!
We are loving watching Sawyer grow into such a unique little boy. If you know my husband, he is a walking image of him and has fully taken on his personality. Makes us laugh all the time and keeps us on our toes. We keep thinking he will walk any day but are in NO hurry for that to happen.

TIME...WHERE DOES IT GO?

I am not sure what happened to January but it's now February and I need to give you an update on what's been going on in our lives. Sawyer is really this big and changing daily. We ventured out in the cold to take a nice run by the house. I am experiencing the terrible twos and refuse to do anything my mom asks of me...like look at the camera to take a picture.
I am thankful to live in such a beautiful place.
Right behind us is a flock of geese just hanging out. Looks like mom missed them.
Behind us is a herd of deer. We had to wait for them to cross the road before running by them. Mom was glad to have had the camera this day.
Eating is always fun at our house. Sawyer has become a pretty good eater. Didn't start out so good but mom was persistent and it paid off.
I have been a great eater from the get go and mom makes it fun for me to get all my food groups in!
We got to go watch mom run a little race. We hoped to go with but the course would not allow for a stroller. It would have been quite the ride!
My two best buddies Cole and Tate come and play with me almost every Friday!
I am very independent now and want to do everything myself and I love to help my brother with everything too. It was a busy but fun month and we hope to embark on more adventures in February . Stay tuned!
