CANYON'S FAVORITE PLACE

You know what is CRAZY?? This place they call Bouncing off the Walls! It just might be the most fun a kid can have!
Canyon, my big brother, loves this place!
And I love to see how long I can stay on my feet in these bounce houses!
It definitely takes some talent!
Canyon has mastered the two leg bounce and I am working on the one leg bounce...baby steps.
Did I mention I like this place?
Canyon's friend Eli came to bounce too!
If you come to visit us, this will be a for sure on the list of things to do!

SNOW DAY FUN!

We were all very surprised to wake up to a ton of snow this morning! It was the perfect snow, wet and heavy, for building stuff so we first made a nice little chair for Sawyer. Canyon could not get enough of it!
We built a snow castle for the boys with their own little chairs inside of it!
Way too fun!
After building snow castles, we went downtown to get some hot chocolate at our favorite place, Belatazza!
Hot chocolate face!
Since all the chairs were taken inside, we had to enjoy our warm drinks outside. Canyon found a big snow hill and we quickly made a slide for him!
A fun day indeed!

In Search of the Swans

We took a little family hike to see if we could spot the swans that hang out by the First Street Rapids. It was such a beautiful day and seeing the swans made it just that more beautiful.
Canyon continues to amaze us with his sense of adventure and imagination.
Sawyer finds joy in the little things such as pine cones, sticks, and rocks.
Canyon and I (mom) ran all over and found secret passage ways in the trees.
We had so much fun!
Sawyer is a great little walker and never seems to run out of energy.
Anytime dad is off from work, the boys take in every minute they get to spend with him.
Once the boys started throwing rocks in the water, the swans all came in hopes of food. Next time we will be prepared!
So thankful for my boys who make moments like these so special.
Love capturing their joy.
Sawyer's personality is the best!
And Canyon your sweetness warms my heart and I love creating these memories with you!

Oh boys!

Every day, Sawyer goes into our closet, picks a hat, a pair of shoes and comes out showing off his newest style. I wish I could capture all of his unique combinations but by the time I get the camera and get ready to take a picture, the ensemble is off and he is off to the next thing. Today I managed to get it with just seconds to spare!
Once a week I have a "cheat" day which usually consists of my homemade pizza creation and ice cream. Canyon loves helping me make the pizzas and they patiently watch the cheese melt before their eyes.
This was the vegetable pizza I made gluten and dairy free. You can see this pizza by clicking on the link on the right side of my blog under recipes.
Sawyer hasn't met a food he doesn't like.
Today we made brownies to go with our pizza. These are a gluten/dairy free brownies made with applesauce so a "healthier" version...that is if you only eat a couple:)
Canyon sharing his batter with Sawyer.
Sawyer, it is nice to have you back!
Love my brown eyed boy!
Like father like son. Greg took Canyon out for a date on his day off.
He was sure to dress the part!

Dear Canyon and Sawyer

Dear boys, What a week we have had! Yesterday was a day for me that had me asking God for forgiveness. Why? After 3 days of watching you throw up, coughing to the point of gagging, crying out in pain and not wanting to be held or comforted, I found myself feeling mad, mad because I was helpless, mad because I wasn't able to comfort you, mad that you were having to go through it. I found myself being inconvenienced by the endless hours of laundry, the continuous routine of cleaning you up only to clean you up again, the sheets again, the towels again, and the worst of all, the car seat...oh the dreaded car seat cleaning. God, please forgive me for those moments of non compassion. Then it was my turn yesterday. All day long I felt your pains, your aches and know why you would cry out saying your back hurt and the endless hours of you crying out "ouch" mom. I felt every bit of it, taking over my body, and feeling so helpless, wondering how I was going to make it through the day. When you would crawl up in bed with me and try to play with me, your touch was oh so painful, my body ached so bad that touching it was miserable...I now understand why mom trying to comfort you was not comfort, but pain. I spent the day wondering how I would take care of two energetic boys that just wanted mom to "get up" and play. If only you knew how much that broke my heart. It all makes sense to me and all I can say now is Thank YOU GOD that it was only 1 day, that it was "just" laundry. Thank you for my boys being independent yesterday and for the few times I could painfully get out of bed to leave drinks and sandwiches on the table for the boys to eat when they were hungry. For my husband who was able to come home for a few minutes to bring me broth and make me tea that I was able to get down. Thank you for giving me the strength to change a poopy diaper that I spent 30 minutes trying to decide which was worse, the pain I would feel changing it, or the smell that was about to make me throw up. Oh I would do it all over again but this time with more compassion. I love you boys SO much and now we can just pray that daddy doesn't get it. I can't wait to take you to the park, to get OUT of this house we have been trapped in all week. Love, mommy

Some of our favorite things...TRIOS

I think Legos are the thing of the past, although maybe when the boys get bigger, they will be more interested but it sure seems like what's out there now can sure stir the imagination. I have to admit, I built all of these with the exception of the guy, Canyon has mastered making him and is very insistent on following the instructions.

This is our spy house we built with big eye cameras on the outside so the bad guys can't get in. If you have boys, you will understand that mean guys and bad guys are way more fun to play with then good guys and nice guys. Of course the mother in me always convinces them that nice guys are much better so I have to be the nice "guy."
