OUR LITTLE MONKEY IS 11 MONTHS

It is so hard to believe our little monkey is 11 months old. Sawyer has such a funny spirit and keeps us smiling and laughing all the time.
We of course think he is the most beautiful little boy.
His blue eyes smile at us and melt our hearts.
He adores his brother and we are so thankful for Canyon's love for him.
He is a very sensitive boy and full of adventure.
Canyon imitating his brother below.
Sawyer LOVES animals and goes crazy at the sight of any. We are so blessed to have deer in our yard on a daily basis. Right now as I write this I am looking out at a baby deer eating grass only yards from me. It's easy to get use to, but we still get excited every time.
With one month to go, I am trying hard to finish our 1 year with Sawyer book and planning for our Sock Monkey Birthday party for him.

SUNDAY HIKE

Another beautiful day in Rocky Mountain National Park. We had such an amazing day on Wednesday that we decided to come back and bring some very special people with us. Our friends Tara, Jason, and Emerson
And our cousins "Tatie" and "Teese"
We snowshoed back to Emerald Lake which is about a mile past Dream Lake. The beauty of this place can only be determined by the eyes of those who visit.
From the eyes of our little Sawyer.
Through the eyes of our little adventurous boy Canyon.
Thanks Katie for joining us and bringing your beautiful sister.
My big Angel Greg and our little Angel Canyon leaving their imprints in the snow.
Helping daddy make a snowman.
Canyon is such an awesome little hiker and his laughter is still echoing in the mountains. We look forward to walking these same steps this summer when the snow is gone and the trail is filled with sand, waterfalls, and wildflowers that will once again make this hike memorable for our family.

SATURDAY AT THE FARM

Mom took me to the Farm on Saturday and I had a ton of fun showing my brother all the animals. He made many "ooohs and ahhhs" sounds and loved watching the animals.
One thing I am learning about my brother is he doesn't really care what he is doing as long as there is food involved.
This horse is the only one I could ride until April when I will have to come back for the pony rides.
Sawyer liked this horse until he snorted and scared him.
This was my horse. Mom let me pet him and I wasn't even scared.
The rooster is a very cool animal and I have mastered the sound it makes without the "cocka" part...just the doodle doo!
Another great adventure on a beautiful sunshiny day.

GREEN BUNNIES

I love trying new things with food and finding fun ways to make my boys enjoy their food. Canyon has always been an amazing eater and will eat his broccoli before anything else but Sawyer is a little pickier and is not a fan of eating broccoli in big pieces so I blended the broccoli with milk and made Green Bunnies! Sawyer loved it and Canyon thought having Green bunnies was pretty cool. Remember there is never a need to use butter especially in Mac n Cheese. It doesn't taste any different without the butter. (My opinion of course) Butter Other options for butter are steaming instead or using olive oil. If you find a good spray bottle for your olive oil, it's easy to use it in moderation and cover your food better before cooking. Pampered Chef makes a great one specific for this. If I am sauteeing vegetables I will sometimes just use water unless I want the extra flavor, then I will use Olive Oil. Other oils that add flavor that are fun are Walnut Oil, Peanut Oil, and Sesame Oil.

DREAM LAKE HIKE

Mom and Dad took baby Sawyer and me to Rocky Mountain National Park today for a big adventure! This is Dream Lake, our final destination. Mom and dad were happy to get us off their backs for a little rest and a nice picnic lunch in this beautiful place!
Mom and baby Sawyer on the way to Dream Lake.
I was happy to hike by myself and look forward to having my own snow shoes soon.
Mountain Climbing is my thing!
Sawyer wearing my old "special" shades.
Feeding these crazy birds my peanut butter sandwich was the best part! They were not shy!
This place is breathtaking and exhausting all at the same time!
My daddy was smoked as the entire hike was up hill! I am no light spring chicken! Nice job daddy!
Such an amazing place.
Mommy and baby Sawyer having so much fun!Making sure my daddy doesn't miss a thing!
I had a great day with my family and look forward to our next adventure.

Horsetooth Hike

We planned to hike Coyote Ridge but it was closed so we took a little detour to Masonville to see some fun old time things...most of which I couldn't' touch. This is as close as I could get to this really cool train. Trust me I so wanted to climb all over it but I figured I should obey the rules.
We decide to go across the street to Horsetooth Mountain Park and do a fun hike up the service road.
It is always fun hiking with my dad!
Sawyer had so much fun too. He loves to look around and squeaks at everything he sees!
To wear off some energy, daddy let me hike all on my own for most of the way down.
We ran into some snow, mud, and even saw a small herd of deer.
Being outside is GREAT!
The views are always beautiful!
I even love to explore off the trail.
All in all it was a great day to get out and get some fresh cool air.
